What's on a build-your-own item at Crown?
Every Crown item starts with a base (flour or corn tortilla, hard shell, or go bowl/burrito/quesadilla), then your protein (brisket, quesabirria, chicken tinga, carnitas, al pastor, or veggie), beans or cilantro-lime rice, toppings (white onion, cilantro, cotija, lettuce, pico, lime), salsa at your heat level, and any extras (guac, queso, churros, chips).
What proteins can I choose from?
Brisket smoked over post-oak, quesabirria, chicken tinga, carnitas, al pastor, and a rotating veggie protein. First protein is included in the base price; additional proteins add $3.50.
Can I make my meal gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegetarian?
Yes — the builder supports all three. Pick corn tortillas (or a bowl/quesadilla base) for gluten-free, skip cheese and crema for dairy-free, and choose the veggie protein for vegetarian. Vegan is achievable by also skipping cheese, crema, and the chipotle salsa (which contains a small amount of dairy).
What's the difference between a taco, bowl, burrito, and quesadilla here?
Same fillings — different vehicle. Tacos give you 2–3 small portions in tortillas. Bowls skip the tortilla and stack everything on rice or greens. Burritos wrap it all in a large flour tortilla. Quesadillas are grilled with melted cheese as the base. Pricing differs slightly by format; it's shown live in the builder.
How spicy are the salsas?
Three levels: mild verde (tomatillo, gentle), smoky chipotle (medium, smoky-sweet), and hot habanero (genuinely hot — start with a spoon). All three are made fresh in our Hurst kitchen the morning of service.
Can I order a build-your-own taco for pickup?
Yes — the builder on this page is the same flow as ordering for pickup. Build it, add to cart, choose a pickup time, and we'll have it ready at our Hurst kitchen.
